Shipocity Learn is written and maintained by Shipocity Editorial. We publish guides for durable shipping questions and dated updates for laws, classification changes, carrier practices, and other developments that can change.
How we choose topics
We prioritize questions that affect a real shipping decision: choosing a mode, preparing a handling unit, completing documents, understanding a rate, tracking freight, or responding to a problem. Each article is assigned one primary reader task to avoid publishing multiple pages that repeat the same answer.
How we research and source articles
Material factual claims should be supported by the closest available primary source, such as a government agency, standards body, carrier rule, tariff, or official technical publication. Sources are linked beside relevant claims when practical and listed at the end of sourced articles.
Examples and calculations are labeled and use fictional shipment details unless the article says otherwise. We do not invent customer results, expert identities, survey findings, prices, or performance statistics.
How we handle changing information
Shipping requirements can vary by carrier, service, commodity, lane, and date. Dated shipping updates include an effective date or status when one is known. Evergreen guides are reviewed when their cited standards or operating assumptions change.
If an update is replaced, delayed, or withdrawn, we revise the page and preserve enough context for the reader to understand what changed.
